Website Privacy Notice

How RailoPay handles information when you visit this pre-launch website or contact us.

About this notice

This notice applies only to the public website at railopay.com and messages sent to our support address while RailoPay is in its pre-launch phase. The website does not currently create customer accounts, collect identity documents, accept payments, or process financial transactions.

Before RailoPay opens account registration or launches app-based financial services, we will publish the additional privacy information and service terms that apply to those activities.

Information handled by this website

  • Privacy-friendly analytics information, including the page viewed, referring website, campaign parameters, browser and device category, screen dimensions, browser language, time zone, time on page, and scroll depth.
  • Technical request and security information that our hosting and network providers may process when delivering and protecting the website, such as an IP address, request time, requested page, and browser information.
  • Information you choose to include when emailing contact@railopay.com, including your email address, message, and any attachments.

Analytics and cookies

We use Simple Analytics to understand aggregate website usage. Simple Analytics states that it does not set cookies or similar identifiers, does not use device fingerprinting or cross-site tracking, and discards IP addresses rather than storing or hashing them. Its measurements are not intended to identify individual visitors.

RailoPay does not currently use advertising cookies or behavioral advertising on this website. If that changes, we will update this notice and introduce any consent controls required by applicable law.

Why we use this information

  • Deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the website.
  • Understand aggregate interest in RailoPay and improve the website’s content, accessibility, and performance.
  • Respond to questions, support requests, and privacy requests.
  • Prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.

Legal grounds

Where applicable, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and securing an informational website and responding to messages, on steps you ask us to take when you contact us, and on compliance with legal obligations. We will request consent before introducing processing that requires it.

Who receives information

Information may be handled by providers that host, deliver, secure, or measure the website and by communication providers used to receive support email. We may also disclose information when required by law, a competent authority, or to protect the website and its visitors. We do not sell personal information.

International processing

Some website or communication providers may process information outside Cameroon. Simple Analytics states that its analytics data is hosted in the Netherlands. Where applicable, we will use appropriate safeguards for international processing.

How long information is kept

We keep support messages only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain appropriate records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. Hosting and security providers apply their own documented retention periods. Aggregate analytics records are retained according to our analytics configuration and provider agreement.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold personal information about you and request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection. You may also raise a complaint with the competent data-protection authority. Because the analytics service is designed not to identify individual visitors, we may be unable to connect an analytics event to you.

Security

We and our providers use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect the website and information sent to us. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please do not email passwords, PINs, one-time codes, identity documents, private keys, or financial credentials during this pre-launch phase.

Children

This website is intended for a general adult audience and is not designed to collect information from children under 18.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice when the website, our providers, or applicable requirements change. We will publish the revised notice with a new effective date. A separate or expanded notice will be published before customer registration or financial services become available.
